It is a...Super Shower!
This gigantic angled shower is another by-product of Dominic Morlando's dream home.  With it's 12 foot ceiling and 5 shower heads, it was one of the largest showers we have installed.
We began by applying the water proofing.  We used a liquid water proofing from Laticrete called 9235.  We applied one layer then applied a nylon fabric.  Then a second layer of liquid was applied over the fabric, embedding it into the water proofing.  It makes for a strong, water proof layer that tile bonds to well.  Once the water proofing was complete, we installed the ceiling, then the benches.  The bench seats were built-in and one is lower than the other to make it easier to rest your foot on to shave or wash. After the benches we installed the floor, then the walls, then the niches and widow.  Finally we installed the doorway and base around the floor.
The mosaic, mounted on top of the wall tile, is meant to create an upholstered look, softening the large span of walls.

Why Water Proof?

Water is one of the most destructive elements a home faces.  Even the smallest trickle will eventually do big damage.                   Areas subject to exposure should be treated with some kind of protection from water...in all it's forms.
Failure to control water could create an enviroment in your walls that is ideal for mold or mildew development.
Preparing your surfaces prior to installation will make sure you won't have health issues or costly repairs in the future.
