Combine one of the larget tiles on the market with one of the smallest tiles on the market, and what do you get?  A stunningly beautiful tub-hop that is fit for royalty.  First step for us was to hang backer board.  Next, we applied water proofing membrane over the entire shower area (tub to ceiling) to prevent moisture from entering the wall cavity.  Then, using a no-sag mortar, we hung the large panels allowing enough space between to later install a mosaic strip between.  The finished product looked great.  Modern and classic at the same time.  We also installed the bath floor on a diagonal with the corners clipped to accept the same mosaic used on the walls.  Finally, an epoxy grout made by Laticrete was used to keep this bath "low maintenance" for years to come.

When most installers hear the words "epoxy grout" they cringe.  Early versions of this type of grout were not so user friendly to apply.  Laticrete International, Inc. has an easy to use epoxy grout that is stain resistent and won't shrink or discolor with thier Spectralock series of epoxy grouts.  It costs more than cement grouts, of course, but they never need sealing. 

And, if you've priced sealers, you know that they are not cheap.
